Heartburn Symptoms

Like a red light on the dashboard, heartburn symptoms are a reminder. Only someone who has had heartburn pain can truly understand the signal - the most common one for millions of people is chest pain. As you know pain is not a symptom that is easily ignored and shouldn't be. Although a simple remedy like antacids may be working to relieve this, in time it may develop into to something more serious. Let's take a look.

If you been dealing with heartburn for a while you probably know that these symptoms are not going to go away. Wish as hard as you might it's still there, reminding you that sometime in the future it may become a serious issue. But why wait patiently for medical research to find a safe, inexpensive cure for this condition?

Symptoms - In the beginning you may experience a sharp pain, bloating or belching. These symptoms are usually remedied with antacids. Later you may develop other symptoms that could include a bad taste in the mouth, bad breath or urge to regurgitate. If so you probably need to start a personal heartburn treatment plan. Something that alters your diet to neutralize stomach acid, especially if you notice a sour taste or any chronic symptoms.

Just as important as these symptoms is the frequency of attacks. Two or more times a week can be a sign of something more than common indigestion. Then too there is the severity of attacks. And you should be honest about this. There is nothing to be gained by enduring this in hopes that things will get better. If you have random heartburn pain, trouble sleeping or persistent cough, these could be symptoms of damage to esophagus or stomach. As with any medical condition, especially chromic pain, it's a good idea to see a health care professional.

What to do about it - Benefit from knowing that you've figured out the problem and start to put a plan to work. Flip open a note book and begin mapping out a plan that will eliminate these heartburn symptoms. You can do this by pinpointing the things that have been causing these symptoms. Many ideas are easy to put into action.

Some as easy as eating from a smaller plate - four or five smaller meals a day could do it. Chewing your food better. Or taking a little walk after a big meal, is a healthy start. Try it out - See if there is a natural solution that will work as your heartburn remedy. You should begin to see improvement very quickly.

The important point is to start to work before any damage is done. So start at once to identify the heartburn symptoms that relate and go to work on the cause. The cause is the real issue. Eliminating the cause will be the thing that allows you to look back and say, "I feel great, I took care of that." Having that feeling of accomplishment is a big part of success.
